The electronic double knob cylinder from Uhlmann & Zacher in a modern stainless steel design replaces a mechanical locking cylinder. The door is opened by transponders (cards, fobs) and, depending on the variant, also using radio switching modules or smartphones. The two radio technologies Bluetooth® Low Energy and 868 MHz are available for the product. In addition to new properties, existing mechanical locking systems can also be replaced by a modern wireless access system.
With the double knob cylinder, different authorizations can be assigned on both sides. This makes it particularly suitable for through doors. It can be used in a large number of doors, for example wooden doors, plastic doors, tubular frame doors and glass doors.
With an authorized transponder, the electronic knob can be separated from the cylinder housing, making it particularly easy to dismantle. Changing the battery and thus removing the cover is only possible with the appropriate authorization.
The electronic knob cylinder is characterized by a long battery life with up to 80,000 openings per battery set.
