The electronic double knob cylinder from Uhlmann & Zacher in a modern stainless steel design replaces a mechanical locking cylinder. The door is opened using transponders (cards, fobs) or radio switching modules. The radio technology 868 MHz is available for the product. In addition to new properties, existing mechanical locking systems can also be replaced by a modern wireless access system.
With the double knob cylinder, different authorizations can be assigned on both sides. This makes it particularly suitable for through doors. The evaluation electronics and mechatronics as well as the batteries are located in the protected interior area. The locking cylinder is therefore also especially suitable for use in building entrance doors.
With an authorized transponder, the electronic inside knob can be separated from the cylinder housing, making it particularly easy to remove. Changing the battery and thus removing the cover is only possible with the appropriate authorization.
The electronic double knob cylinder is characterized by a long battery life with up to 70,000 openings per battery set.
