It was achieved at the beginning of 2017: The 500,000th electronic locking unit manufactured by Uhlmann & Zacher will be shipped to the market. A special milestone for the innovative company – and of course a reason to celebrate. “Wagner Sicherheitstechnik GmbH” and the club “Reit- und Fahrverein Dettelbach und Umgebung e.V.” are the lucky dealer and customer of the jubilee cylinder. Therefore, Wagner Sicherheitstechnik and the presidency of the club are handed over a gold-plated electronic locking cylinder at the headquarters.
The festive occasion will also include a small retrospective view of 26 years of the company's history. It began in 1990, when the founding partners Martin Uhlmann and Dr. Marc Zacher established Uhlmann & Zacher GmbH to develop software and hardware and to distribute computer hardware. Just six years later, the development of electronic locking systems using an appropriate management software was added to the portfolio. The idea for this business segment originated in the living room of the Uhlmann family. It was there that Martin Uhlmann's father, Günter Uhlmann, invented the first electronic U & Z locking cylinder.
A new company building and their first production hall were soon needed and procured in 2002. The range of products continued to grow steadily: locking cylinders, door fittings, furniture locks, cabinet locks, radio modules, readers, add-on components and management software were developed and launched in the market. The range of application extends from residences to doctors' clinics including hospitals and authorities as well as large industrial buildings. Finally, it is possible to use the electronic locking systems manufactured by Uhlmann & Zacher in almost all kind of buildings.
Today, Uhlmann & Zacher is regarded as one of the best development-driven providers of electronic locking systems with approx. 70 employees at the headquarters in Waldbüttelbrunn. From the idea and development to customer service and technical support, the world of electronic locks and cylinders is everything over there.
